Brevis is a luxury sedan manufactured for the Japanese market. It was introduced in 2001 in the month of May. The car is a mid sized saloon similar to the the Toyota Progres or a Lexus LS with a slightly larger body. It is pitched against the likes of Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-series. The car is made on the same lines as that of the Progres. The power train is similar to the Progres and so is the chassis. The Brevis comes with a choice of 2.5 L and 3.0 L VVT-i engines giving an output of 200 and 220 horses respectively with D4 direct fuel injection system. The transmission is 5 speed automatic. The 2500cc version comes with a choice of both 2WD and 4WD whereas the 3000cc version has only 2WD. The cost of the car ranges from $37,000 to $45,000 depending on the type of model. Brevis has a lot of cabin as well as boot space. The wheelbase is 2780mm and the curb weight of the car is around 1550Kg. The ride quality is good but not the best in its class due to its large weight. The suspension is a double wishbone structure and tends to be a little soft. The interior is classy and neat, as expected by the Toyota. There is a LCD monitor in the center console with CD changer and the works. The car comes with power pedals that can be adjusted and so do the steering wheel and the driver's seat.
When shopping for a new or used car it is important to do your research. Used cars may or may not carry baggage. You ought to study the CarFax reports. You ought to see the mileage the vehicle has and how many miles it is expected to have during its lifetime. It also important to analyze the expected car maintenance for a specific car. If the vehicle owner took great care of the car, has had all the oil changes, you will save on car repairs on a yearly basis. That savings can go towards the purchase of a better vehicle. This is why we tend to recommend Toyotas. They last a long time, are cheaper to maintain, and are very reliable. |
