The First gen Corolla, the E10 series, was launched in Japan in 1966. It was a sub-compact sedan which came with 1.1L and 1.2L variants with rear wheel drive. The transmission was by a 4-speed floor shift type manual transmission. It also came with 2-speed floor as well as column shift automatic transmission. Corolla was sold in Japan, US, Europe, Australia as well as Asian markets and it did well almost everywhere due to its affordable price and easy maintenance.

The ninth generation E120 was introduced in 2000. It comes as a 4 door sedan, 3 and 5 door hatch, estate as well as van versions. Although specifications differ from region to region, the cars come with engines options of 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 liter petrol/gasoline and a 2.2 lire diesel engine. When shopping for a new or used car it is important to do your research. Used cars may or may not carry baggage. You ought to study the CarFax reports. You ought to see the mileage the vehicle has and how many miles it is expected to have during its lifetime. It also important to analyze the expected car maintenance for a specific car. If the vehicle owner took great care of the car, has had all the oil changes, you will save on car repairs on a yearly basis. That savings can go towards the purchase of a better vehicle.

This is why we tend to recommend Toyotas. They last a long time, are cheaper to maintain, and are very reliable.
