The Toyota T100 is an all wheel drive full sized pickup truck introduced in America in 1993 to fill the gap for large pickup in the American market. The vehicle was discontinued shortly in 1998. The car was pitched against the likes of Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet C/K. Although the body of the T100 was of that of a large sized pickup with an 8 ft bed but it had the the engine, frame, and suspension characteristics of a compact truck. This did not go very well with the american market. Moreover, it lacked a V8 engine that its counterparts had a standard feature. As a result, the T100 sold poorly. Initially, the T100 was available with a 3.0 L V6 engine. Later, in 1994, 2.7 L Inline 4 engine was added. Further improvements included a 3.4 L V6 engine which replaced the older 3.0 L V6. The trim levels offered with the T100 were base model, DX, SR5. Transmission was a choice of 5 speed automatic or 5 speed manual. Even though many improvements were made to increase the power of the T100, the market response was negative. Eventually, in 1998, the production of the truck was discontinued to make way for the Toyota Tundra.
