Van

The Toyota Van is a mid sized van from Toyota which debuted in 1984 and lasted till 1989. The Van was also called the Toyota Wonderwagon as well as Toyota Model F. It was a 3 door van pitched against the Ford Aerostar, Dodge Caravan, Nissan Van C22 and others of the same class.

The engine fitted with the Van was 4Y-EC 2.2L inline 4 giving a power output of 101 bhp. Transmission was 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual. The van was initially available as a rear wheel drive although the all wheel drive version was also available later in 1987.

The version sold in the US was called the Van, the Japanese was called Space Cruiser. The vehicle was called Model F in many european markets. Both cargo as well as passenger versions were available. The design of the van was edgy and boxy. The engine was was placed in the middle behind the driver seat. The dimensions of the van were 175 inches in length, 65.7 in width and 70.3 in in height. This clearly shows that the van was quite spacious and was a very practical people mover. The vehicle removed from the American market in 1989 to be replaced by the Previa later in 1991.
