Windom

windom toyota car models

The Toyota Windom is a mid sized luxury car. The sedan is nowadays sold under the Lexus banner of luxury cars, a subsidiary of Toyota. The sedan is knoen as Lexus ES. The car was first unveiled in 1989 and is still in production with the current generation being the fifth. The car feels and looks similar to the Toyota Camry. In  fact it is built on the  Camry platform. The car can also be categorized under  executive cars although it is smaller than a full sized executive car. The car is one of the entry level cars in the Lexus marquee. The Windom is sold only in Japan. In rest oe the world, the car is marketed as Lexus ES.

The first generation of Lexus ES was introduced in 1989. The car was called the Lexus ES 250. The car was built on the Cmary platform and shared the same 2.5lL V6 engine of the Camry as well as body style, that is, a four door sedan. The car was quite popular since in inception in US although not as much as the Camry. The E250 was sold till the mid of 1991.

The second generation ES 300 was introduced in sectember 1991. The new model was a completety different from the ES250. The car was much larger and more luxurious, move towards the executive car category from the luxury sedan category. The Toyita Windom VCV10 series was based on the ES 300. The ES 300 came with a 185 bhp 3.0L V6 engine although the Windom VCV-11 which was based on this car was available with a more modest 2.5L engine rated at 172bhp.

Th e 3rd generation ES called the ES MCV20, was lauched in 1996 and continued till the end of 2001. The new car had a more upmarket feel to it than its presicessor. The car a bit longer tham the ES300. The power came from a 3.0L V6 engine whereas the Japanese market Windom was fitted with 2.5L V6 engine.

When shopping for a new or used car it is important to do your research. Used cars may or may not carry baggage. You ought to study the CarFax reports. You ought to see the mileage the vehicle has and how many miles it is expected to have during its lifetime. It also important to analyze the expected car maintenance for a specific car. If the vehicle owner took great care of the car, has had all the oil changes, you will save on car repairs on a yearly basis. That savings can go towards the purchase of a better vehicle.

This is why we tend to recommend Toyotas. They last a long time, are cheaper to maintain, and are very reliable.
